Dear colleagues and friends,
With each year our community grows and evolves, but our united goal remains the same: to improve society through biomedical innovation. Thanks to our strong collaborative culture, inspiring faculty and students who pursue impactful work, and our ever-expanding research expertise, this goal is always within reach.
In this issue of the Duke BME Magazine, I’m thrilled to share the impressive work of our community, with stories covering a collaboration that brought clarity to frog biology, our newest outreach programs, which aim to provide local middle and high school students with engineering and lab experience, and a feature about how we’re working to position Duke as a powerhouse in computational medicine. I’m also excited to officially introduce the newest group of faculty members who have joined Duke BME this calendar year. I know their expertise and enthusiasm will continue to set us apart from the rest.
Please enjoy reading our latest issue.
Best wishes,
Joseph A. Izatt
